Functioning as a regenerating anchor in an stagnant old CBD area, this project is to design a multi-cultural convention facility satisfying Gwangju citizens‘ desires for culture and arts. The building is composed of a single mass to create maximum flexibility for both indoor and outdoor spaces accommodation of various programs and outdoor events. The multi-angular diamond shape of the building conforms to the polygonal geometry of the site with a strong frontal image toward urban areas, and multi-layered spatial configuration of the building helps participation of neighborhood citizens with easy accessibility.
