A Landscape of Communication and a Cultural Imaginarium
Today's art museum must evolve beyond a collection space for art into a power plant of imagination—an actively experienced hub of new cultural exchange and convergence. It is called upon to become a comprehensive complex that spans art, culture, and nature, transcending locality to embrace a global scope. Special exhibition and permanent exhibition functions, together with reading and archive functions, merge with urban community functions to form a complex cultural space. The Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall proposal presents "A Landscape of Communication and a Cultural Imaginarium"—a place and a piece of architecture that symbolizes Gwangju's new vision and the culture of the future.
