This project involves constructing an educational and research facility that consolidates and expands R&D research space to strengthen the research and industry-academia collaboration capabilities of Incheon National University. Unlike typical university lecture facilities, this facility must satisfy the research characteristics of each laboratory and the requirements of its research equipment. This calls for organic coordination among diverse disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications works. Accordingly, it is necessary to thoroughly review the function and equipment layout plan of each laboratory, and to verify in advance the interfaces and constructability between research equipment and architectural and MEP systems, so as to minimize additional construction work and functional problems that may arise during the operation stage. In addition, the project must secure the performance of power, HVAC, ventilation, water supply and drainage, and fire protection systems suited to the characteristics of a research facility, and deliver facility quality optimized for actual research activities through integrated commissioning. Furthermore, because the construction takes place within an active campus, it is important to manage the project so that it proceeds stably, with a construction plan that minimizes the impact on the academic activities of students and faculty and staff.
